I'll Pray Again - Symphonic Version

Recently I came across this song and it has become one of my favorites.  Some of the words are so fitting for the season in my life right now, and are a reminder to continue praying no matter what the circumstances are like. The following words stood out to me the most….

“…..But if you’ll read in the Bible page after page, you’ll see that He’s there and He’ll never forsake. Surrender your life is all you must do. You’ll begin to see God’s point of view, He’s there to change you. 
[Chorus] You’ll pray again, you’ll kneel again; you’ll knock on the door asking for more. Strength for the fight, peace in the night, trusting by faith the answer He’ll send. You’ll pray again….”

I have found the first part to be so true; the last few months my Bible has gained many new highlighted and underlined verses. Verses that had never stood out to me before are there to comfort and guide in the trial or struggle I’m facing that very day. I have been so blessed by many verses in the Bible, devotional book readings, devotionals in my inbox, songs, and texts from dear friends’ right when I need them. Repeatedly God has reminded me that He sees everything and cares.
Surrender has been another thing the Lord has been showing me the last few months. At times its daily giving up things I want, leaving the future to God, realizing that mom’s health is in His hands, etc. everything must be surrendered to God. I’m beginning to understand what it means to go the way of the cross; “When the will of God crosses the will of man, somebody has to die” (Addison L.).  Jim Elliot, one of my favorite writers once said “The will of God is always a bigger thing than we bargain for”, it’s not an easy thing but a beautiful thing when a person lets God do to their life what He wills.
Psalm 55:22A stood out to me recently, “cast thy burden upon the Lord….” I looked up cast in the Hebrew and it means to throw out, down or away, my favorite was to hurl. It gave me an exact picture of what we are supposed to do; throw, hurl our burden upon the Lord. Once we do that
we’ll be able to have “strength for the fight, peace in the night, trusting by faith the answer He’ll send”. No matter what it looks or feels like, one day an answer for everything well be
given and it well be the very best for us!

Winter in Ohio

 The above scene is typical up here in Ohio, although this year was unsually warm and not much snow. Just a few weeks ago we had around an inch of snow, in April! But the 60's and 70's have come and we are so enjoying the beautiful weather. It did get very cold here for a few weeks, I was about ready to go back south when I went to school and it felt like -15! It was sooo cold!! We had one big snow in February, I had never seen so much snow in one spot before! The snow piles were almost as big as the buildings! Below are some pictures of my winter experiences here in Ohio..... -15....when it's so cold it hurts to breath outside, I won't ever forget those cold mornings! Wedding Pictures Part Three/Reception

Our cooks and kitchen helpers did a wonderful job at our reception! James and Rose Miller did a amazing job as our reception coordinators. It was an honor to have the couple I lived with while teaching, come to my wedding and have part! This dear lady has had such an impact on my life, and she too had a part in my wedding. Barbra Kauffman did a beautiful job on our cake, plus it tasted so good!! The topper on the cake has a story to it....the first time Josiah alluded that he loved me was when we were in a gift shop. There were many plaques I was enjoying looking at, and he found one that had the saying "love you to the moon and back" and said he should buy it for me. Later that night he told me his true feelings about me, and weeks later he gave me a plaque with that quote on it. I have loved that quote ever since! Our servers were a great set of people! I...

Anniversary Trip

For our first wedding anniversary we decided to take a big trip up north. I have always wanted to see the north eastern states and Prince Edward Island in Canada, and Josiah has a plan to visit all the 48 states that are together in his lifetime. So we planned a trip to hit all the key places along the way. I chronicled the trip in photos and picked the best to share on here. The above and below photo was are first stop, Horseshoe Bend in Altoona, PA. This site had some family ties and Josiah has always wanted to see it. His great-grandfather helped to build this track around the bend during the depression. Walking everyday for two hours to earn money! Now it is amazing to be standing there seeing and feeling the effects of a train on three sides of you. You can pay to go up by the track, but since we were passing through we decided to enjoy the entire view from the parking lot. Our next stop that day was Philadelphia.
