This past Wednesday our life group planned
on doing a work night at our new house. Another life group from our church came
to help as well, so we had many helpers (ten men) to put insulation in. The
main focus was to get the ceiling insulated; I was curious to see how the
cathedral part would work with no scaffolding, but they came up with something
that workedJ. We were pleased to get the entire ceiling done in
one evening; a great big job finished! A few times that evening I was reminded
what truly living is; it’s being busy but not losing your focus on others. Its
girls laughing in a car together while running between two houses, stopping to
pray in the middle of working with guys on ladders, up in collar ties and on
the ground; not once but twice, being upstairs and listening to the women visit
downstairs along with the men working; lots of noise that for once I didn’t
mindJ. May we never get so wrap up in our busyness that we
lose sight of everything else; and miss truly living.
