What We've Been Up Too
So with all the sporadic blog updates, what have we been up
to since framing the house?
--More deliveries--
Tub/shower unit going in the front door.
--Enjoying sunsets at the house site--
--Cutting out windows--
--Hosting out of town company at our new house for the first
time….We really enjoyed having Ken and Barb Kauffman from northwestern Arkansas
stop by for a visit. Even if it was only a passing through visit, it was
wonderful to see them again. There were many hugs and happy smiles; much can
change in the few months that we don’t see each other. It was a pleasure to
show them our new place….in the making--
--Getting the porch roof on....ahhh a much better look--
--Printing our church calendar--
--Installing the front door--
--Spending time together--
--Dirt work...More to come--
--Beginning
to count 1000 Gifts of Thanks #Ann Voskamp--
--House wrap!....From what I heard getting the rest of the
house wrap on was not a fun job. It was “ok” till Andrew hit the top and the
wind came up. I had to laugh at some of the pictures, but Andrew emphatically
stated that “it was not funny”J--
Here are some pictures Caleigh got on Andrew's phone.....

Andrew is truly wrapped up in the house wrap! Courtesies of the wind. :)

Now that everything appears to be under control...Andrew decided to go to the very top and nail it down some more.
After Andrew’s many experiences on the south side, he
somewhat drug his feet at doing the north…he didn’t want the neighbors; AKA
church family, to watch the “show”J.
So after doing some other things it is now evening; meaning dark, and there is
no light on the north end of the house. No problem we’ll just pull out the
lights; 1,000 watts at that! Didn’t want the neighbors to watch the show? Well
the north side is now more lit up then in the daylight!! After pointing this out to Andrew some of us
had a good laugh, and even more so on the way home. The younger girls happened
to look south and there’s the house; a big white lit up dot a mile and a half
away!
Our experiences with house wrap well never be forgotten.....
--Day to day work--
--Shingling....More to come--
--Celebrating birthdays--
--Moving the cellar and tank--
--Showing our present home--
--Lastly we did some imagining….No we don’t have electricity
in the house yet, Andrew actually bought lights so he could work in the dark. But
do you have an imagination? Standing in the front yard here’s what we
imaginedJ. A welcoming home; a fire in the wood stove, a
warm meal on the table, loved ones to greet us, lights shining from under the
porch roof, and an open door. Do you see what we were seeing? We can’t wait
until this place is our cozy little home!!--
