Dirt Work #2

John and Luke Nolt started phase two of the dirt work two weeks ago. We wanted it level behind the house so they had a lot of dirt to move. So much that John’s bulldozer must have thought it was too much work; it gave out after only working for a few hoursJ. And that was after John and Luke had spent a long time getting the dozer started, it dislikes the cold as much as we doJ. The work was stopped till the next morning when another bulldozer (rental) was dropped off. We thought John had it made during the chilly morning, he had heat!! It was a lot of fun getting pictures of the dozer working. Luke put the finishing touches on our backyard with a scraper. Andrew said that we have the smoothest backyard in the county; I heard to get it like that is rather boringJ. While they were pushing, shoving, scraping, swirling, and I almost sure, making figure eights with the dirtJ, Andrew was shingling the back of the house. The cold weather has made shingling a rather long process.

John and Luke had an amazing amount of patience for this bulldozer. I never heard it start right up. :)
Minutes before the dozer gave out....coming over the hill was just to much. :)

Joshua and Caleb were able to go with John for a while.

John scrapped out a huge hole so we could bury some trash. The boys enjoyed playing in it for a while.
