This year we brought in the New Year with a number of bangs;
though it was 2 days lateJ.
The guys were able to get a lot of work done in the first two days; this post
is only the first day. We thank the Lord that prayers were answered and no one
was injured; though we came pretty close! The weather could have been better,
although it could have been worse! The first day was a little cold, Saturday
was perfect and then the weather just went entirely downhill. But we still had
lots of help! I couldn't begin to name everyone that helped in the framing or
did something to help things run smoothly! We very much appreciated those that
took time to come and help, if it was just a few hours or a whole day(s) it
meant a lot to us!

| Much to Andrew's disappointment this was about all the building he did the first day; he knew that would happen. He was pretty much the foreman to this little project. Running around making sure everyone was doing what was suppose to be done, and answering to the tons of times his name was called. Watching this whole thing come together, I was amazed at what Andrew had stored in his head that needed to be done. He had to be mulling over this thing even in his sleep! In the days to come he was able to work a whole lot more on the framing. |
The above picture has an explanation. Those of you who
really know my dad know that he does not like his veggies all that wellJ. For lunch we made a
meal that had peas in it. Dad after working hard all morning was hungry and
just took a bowl and enjoyed his lunch. He stated that someone should write
down that he actually ate peas; so Jeremy Shetler took him at his wordJ. Much to Dad’s
surprise and everyone else’s amusement Jeremy wrote the following on one of the
floor joists.

This was our floor joist crew...Jeremy Shetler and Luke Nolt. They had the pleasure of going up in the cold wind to do this job....I felt bad for them. :(
